The $10,000 Question

Everyone has heard of the Million dollar question. "If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?". Well I decided to put a little twist on it and ask the $10,000 question. If you were handed $10,000, what would you do with it? Pay off some debts? Maybe upgrade your kitchen or would you put it towards a car? I'm intrigued to know what people would do with a couple extra thousand laying around.

Amazing question!
For me this would be easy. I would buy two tickets to Vegas for myself and my wife, and get-to-gambling. $100,000 or bust!

I love that question, as it's not a life-changing amount, but certainly a nice bonus, it brings up some thoughts. :) I would most likely drop it in the bank, then take off on a completely guilt-free vacation somewhere hot!

Vegas is an awesome idea! I have never been but i keep saying i will lol. I'd play black jack like a high roller. Maybe the casino would put me in a luxury penthouse suite?? Dreaming to much??

Ya, it isn't life changing which makes what you do with it a little bit more important. It can make life easier, more enjoyable and even a bit scary (example: vegas trip that goes terrible wrong lol)

I think a lot of people would do the same, though hopefully it isn't a money pit lol

Excellent question - here's what i'd do:
iPad 2 $800
Thinkpad notebook $3500
Kinnect for Xbox (and some games) $400
Dyson Vacuum Cleaner $600
Two pairs headphones headphones $500
Some new shirts, shoes and sweaters $1000
Join the Toronto Lawn and Tennis Club - pretty sure that'd eat up the rest

I'd go to PDAC and find the next AAA.v; then go all in and make 10,000%

Maybe add that to my idea for going to Vegas! We can buy tickets to Vegas, buy the iPad2 early than in Canada... then, use the balance gambling. $100,000 or bust!

Tokyo is a trip everyone should do in their lifetime. Beats Vegas by miles!

^^The only problem is that $10,000 is great, however it is not enough money to leave a job! Vegas can be done from Toronto over 3 to 4 days. If flying all the way to Tokyo, you would need to take some major time off!

Great question! Hands down for me: four days in Paris with friends and the bf, complete with strolls in the parks, visits to museums, shopping and patios.

bzzzzzz.... Flying around Twitter, I found these two great responses:
@devenyi_adam "pay off my RSP and car loans!"
@sky2004 "Use it towards my mortgage"
Smart people!

I'd have to agree with those Twitter people. I would use it to pay off some debts. Then again, Vegas does sound very tempting!
