Park Mansion marketing summary

Six Full-Floor Residences

A timeless addition to New York’s Upper East Side, Park Mansion offers full-floor contemporary homes in a carefully restored Pre-War European mansion house. Designed in 1900 by Beaux-Arts architecture firm, this neighborhood landmark is reminiscent of a grand Dutch Canal House with a stepped gable, arched windows and red-brown brickwork offset by white stucco ornaments.

A Storied Past

The original architect of The Park Mansion is Janes & Leo, a New York based firm that existed between 1898 and 1911. Elisha Harris Janes and Richard Leopold Leo were the partners at this firm, Leo being a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Architecture and a member of the Architectural League of New York. Neither partner ever studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, yet they were known for designing Beaux-Arts residential buildings in New York. One of their most celebrated works is the baroque Dorilton apartment building on West 71st Street.

Janes & Leo were commissioned to build the “nursery and kindergarten” at 320 East 82nd Street for the Emanu-El Sisterhood in 1899. Upon completion, the finished design was praised for the brickwork detail by esteemed publications including Architectural Review.
