THE STRUCTURE
Recalling the contemporary art and new-age scene, ORBIT’s architecture combines a confident monochromatic design with “avant-garde” horizontal strokes. This striking blend dares to embrace a truly unique and sophisticated façade.
Paired with a desire to breathe a sense of movement and change into the interior, continuous circulation and dynamic spatial attributes were incorporated throughout many of the common areas.
THE INTERIORS
With the aspiration to create an engaging experience for a contemporary audience, units feature fresh aesthetics, comfortable and good flow layouts, and most units offer private outdoor spaces. Exposed concrete ceilings and wall recessed lights promote a brutish but elegant space. Continuing the monochromatic color palette, the integrated kitchens include luxury quartz countertops illuminated by striking sunlight from the oversized windows. Black and white subway tiles in the bathrooms add the final touch to the interiors, harmonizing traditional and modern elements to create an overall pronounced experience.
THE OUTCOME
Aiming to create a uniquely bold and modernized contemporary structure, this project successfully integrates multiple attributes to form a distinctive experience both inside and out. From the prominent dark facade and the futuristic highlights, to the characteristic orbiting elements throughout the exterior and interior — ORBIT at 458 E 25th in Flatbush truly leaves its mark on everything caught in its pull.
