The Miami River is the connective conduit of downtown Miami, linking this vibrant urban center to the islands and waters beyond through commerce, travel, and leisure. The Miami River development project transforms three city blocks along the river into a large-scale, mixed-use project of residential, hotel, retail, and office use with an extensive set of amenities to serve the needs of its residents, visitors, and neighbors. Located between Southwest Second Avenue and Southwest Third Avenue, the Miami River and Southwest Seventh Street, the ten-acre project redefines life along the riverfront by linking Brickell and Little Havana and delivering a new vertical, layered, urban typology that includes elevated walkways that mirror the context of bridges nearby. The Miami River project brings best-in-class finishes and quality to Miami and maximizes the city’s greatest asset: beautiful weather and access to water. The design team includes Kobi Karp Architecture, Roman & Williams Buildings & Interiors, and landscape architect Raymond Jungles. The architecture is characterized by curved strata of the concrete floor plates inspired by the currents of the river and a contemporary advancement of a Miami Deco typology. The project will be built in multiple phases and includes the extensive renovation of the adjacent Jose Marti Park. The development is in partnership with the Chetrit Group.
