A contemporary landmark in this coveted waterfront enclave. Front & York is striking and contextual, wrapping around the largest Private Park in DUMBO.
Front & York is the defining address for DUMBO, conceived inside and out by Morris Adjmi, an architect
celebrated for honoring the New York vernacular while adding a fresh contemporary spin. Morris is the perfect
visionary to craft this modern landmark, a celebrated design that delivers unmatched comfort.
With immense divided-light windows, Morris pays respect to the rich
aesthetic of DUMBO, ensuring each home is bathed in natural light. Upper-
level residences showcase dramatic skyline and water vistas.
The scalloped, custom-molded Superframe, handcrafted in
the Hudson Valley, adds the final layer to the architectural
vocabulary of Front & York. Bold, contemporary, yet
contextual, this is the modern landmark DUMBO deserves.
The hand-cut Belgian block paving DUMBO’s historic streets, often
mistakenly called cobblestones, are one of the most celebrated historical elements
that characterize DUMBO. Shaped by the neighborhood’s heritage, the façade is clad in
carefully articulated custom-made Glen-Gery bricks in a shade that reflects the hue of
the surrounding Belgian block paved streets.
One of the most iconic visual landmarks is the soaring steel-blue silhouette of the
Manhattan Bridge, with its truss-and-rivet structure. The arches of the bridge were
translated into a multi-level crown that defines all four sides of the base of Front &
York, rooting the building into the fabric of the neighborhood.
At the center of Front & York is the half-acre park.
Designed to complement its vision for Brooklyn
Bridge Park, MVVA created a timeless, living work of art
that is emblematic of DUMBO.
