Does First Tentative Closing Date promise allways fail?

We received a North Star Homes letter announcing a 4 months delay on their First Tentative Closing Date for our new home in Milton, Ontario
The project name is ValleyGreen on their Phase 1
Sales people said us they were sold out by the time we signed ...
It should have reasonable amount of time to build between sale -Aug 2,011- and closing date promised -Aug 2,012-

Such delays are commonplace, there are usually a number of factors behind the delays. This is why the agreements of purchase and sale contain provisions to allow for the delay in closing.

I think I have only once in my experience seen a builder close on the first tentative closing date, it is very very rare. Make sure to review your Tarion Addendum forms attached to your agreement of purchase and sale in order to see if the Builder complied with the proper notice and delay provisions.
