AXIS/GFA is proud to design a new 21-story high rise concrete multi-family residential and Hyatt Centric boutique hotel in the heart of trendy Koreatown, Los Angeles. A design on behalf of 3800 West Sixth Street, LLC., the project capitalizes on AXIS/GFA’s demonstrated expertise maximizing development and community use potential in light of L.A.’s significant land and construction costs. The project is a collaboration between AXIS/GFA’s Los Angeles and San Francisco studios.
Sitting above nearly a block-and-a-half of street front retail with storefronts elegantly differentiated by varying inset facades and step-up terraces, the 122 condominium multi-family residential component of the project occupies the tower portion of the design’s footprint. At 21 stories, the edifice will signify itself in the skyline amongst the tallest towers in Koreatown.
Abutting the tower, the 191 room Hyatt Centric boutique hotel occupies the lower eight-story portion of the design’s footprint. Literally crowning the hotel, the eighth floor rooftop pool deck is already one of the most talked about additions to Koreatown’s entertaining scene. Featuring two bars, a pool-side lounge, restaurant, and access to interior/exterior event space, nearly the entirety of the eighth floor’s 11,000 square foot space is dedicated to upscale hosting and hospitality. Adding an authentic locally inspired homage to its Koreatown environs, the hotel’s seventh floor will feature a full service Korean spa.
