Fashion House (Freed) - SEVERE ISSUES

What do your Condo Docs say about the condition it will be delivered in?

I agree, @Tridel is exceptional, and has really worked hard at their customer service and brand. The new homes that I have visited, at PDI, have had next to zero deficiencies, carpet in the hallways, and all amenities open.

You should use the Builder Reviews to comment on this. Just go to the builder, @Freed Developments and @Tridel, and click Review Developer.

Yossi- good to see you back! I haven't seen you in the arena for awhile. I agree with you wholeheartedly a lot of condo discrepancies, I don't think its fair to a tenant especially when they are paying to live there on a month to month basis.

I do agree with Matthew though with the exception of one or two developers, most strive for after sales service and customer satisfaction.

The condo boom has produced a lot of wannabe developers. It has also shown us the difference between the wannabes and the legitimate devs. @Lamb Development Corp. , @Freed Developments, etc... wannabe devs. @Tridel, @The Daniels Corporation, @Minto = legit developers. The city is also to blame here because the city gives out the permits which allows developers to move people in before the building's actually ready. It will take someone getting seriously harmed or killed in a construction zone condo before they do anything.

Freed has collected his money. He has no incentive to finish the building quickly. No incentive at all. He does have incentive to finish the retail spaces. Why? He won't collect money on them until they're finished.

As for your question. Developers should produce a finished/closed to finished product before collecting a red cent. They have been left to run a muck.

@Yossi, that's why we launched the builder reviews. We want people to be able to make informed decisions when purchasing their new homes.

@Yossi KaplanI have experience with the developers I listed. If you don't see the difference between a developer like Freed, Lamb, etc and Tridel, Minto, Daniels, etc then I really don't know what to tell you. Lamb, Freed have nicer, more modern designs. They focus more on design. Minto, Daniels, etc focus more on livability and quality. You're not going to live in a construction zone in a Tridel building. Not with Daniels either. They have more money, have been in the industry for a very long time. They have entire customer care divisions within their companies. Have you seen Freed and Lamb's customer care?  Not a knock on them.  Just explaining where their focus is.

Just saying.. if you bought Tridel, you wouldn't be making this thread.  Because everything would have been done the moment you got your keys.  And as I said, this is more a problem with the city and government than it is with the builders.
