What would you like to see at the Chapters at Richmond and John?

So, the Chapters at Richmond and John is closing down on May 30th.

The space is huge: about 32,000 square feet:

Would you like to see go in??

It is a bit smaller than the "Neighborhood Market" Target store, which are roughly 42,000 square feet. But, Target is doing some really cool urban projects at 4,000 to 15,000 square feet such as this one in Washington DC:

What about an Apple Store??? That would be cool!

That site seems ripe for a more "upscale" grocery store, especially considering all the development happening around it. Whole Foods, maybe?

I'm voting for Uniqlo speeding up their Canadian expansion. It would be pretty much the perfect building for their flagship Toronto store.

@Pearce Tibbles perfect site for that grocery store you need! I'm amazed at how far people in all the condos around there have to walk for groceries, definitely a great location for a supermarket @Ryan McGovern

A grocery store would be perfect.  The closest ones are Lawblaws on Queen W, Sobeys at CityPlace and Longos in Maple Leaf Square.  None exactly convenient for the thousands of people moving into the area as seemingly every parking lot/low rise commercial property is replaced by development proposals for 40+ storey condos.

I live right around the corner and I'm so sad they're closing it! But I'd love to see a Whole Foods there. The big thing missing in that immediate area is a grocery store - the closest large one is at Queen and Portland, which is too far to walk with an armload of groceries if you live in the King/John area. I'd love to see a Whole Foods or another grocery store (likely not Loblaws since they're already in the area).

Uniqlo should forget about Yorkdale and open here.

Sad that they are closing Chapters. I guess in the age of Amazon and ebooks, it's hard for traditional bookstores to stay in business.

As for what should replace it....a grocery shop would be great.

How about an arcade? would be fun for people to play some games and then go watch a movie.

It is a very weird location for both a book store, and a craft store. I am guessing we will be talking about Michael's leaving that location in 5 short years.
