Zoocasa's impact on the real estate lead generation market

Did you see this article on Zoocasa's grand plans for the real estate lead gen market?

http://www.thestar.com/business/real_estate/2013/03/22/rogers_to_step_into_the_real_estate_business.html

Thoughts? Sounds not entirely revolutionary, given other lead sites are doing good MLS integrations as well as brokerages (Realosophy comes to mind)...

We, at BuzzBuzzHome, broke the news here:http://blog.buzzbuzzhome.com/2013/03/rogers-enter-real-estate-market-zoocasa.html

And, the Globe and Mail has a good article on it here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/economy/housing/zoocasa-makes-push-to-become-licensed-real-estate-brokerage/article10252888/

What's interesting to me is the fact that they were not able to open up the real-estate market in Canada (like Zillow and Trulia) without turning into a brokerage.

Is it true that a site cannot access MLS listings without becoming a brokerage? And then still, you have to require users to "sign in"? It's true that's a much more restrictive system.

Our interest was piqued when Zoocasa claimed in the article they are going to surpass Trulia's innovation. Gotta admire the confidence?!
