Who is following Euro 2012?

So the tone of my posts, tweets and status updates over the next month or so are going to be dictated by how England perform at the European Championships.

I'm wondering who else is going to be following the tournament (if anyone...) and who you're rooting for...

Surely by "over the next month" you mean "over the next week and a half", because that's all the involvement Woy and the boys will have in the tournament!
But seriously, do you rate your chances? Didn't look very impressive in the warm-up games and there's a spate of injuries. Doesn't bode well.
Oh, and great reception your fans gave the team bus when they arrived!
GO ON IRELAND!

Breaks my heart every Euro and World Cup, but .... Go England! All they need is Sir Bobby Charlton in his prime and we'd be "good to go"
One eye on the matches, one eye on BBH website! Haha ...

I'm always optimistic. Not always justified, but I'm always optimistic. There is no pressure on us this year, so maybe we can win it ! :)
I like the way the team is lining up. I wish Jack Wilshere was fit - he would have made a huge difference and would have bridged the gap between defensive midfield to the four up front. The two holding midfielders are not quite as dynamic as I would like - it looks like it will be Parker and Milner for the first couple of games until Rooney gets back.
We need a result against France. A draw will set up a tricky game against Ukraine with extra pressure but Roy Hodgson will set us up and we will be organized.
We're not the strongest team, but we will be tough to beat and with a bit of luck... Who knows

^ with respect to the midfielders, I think once Rooney gets back - Gerrard will drop into the middle two and Rooney will take Gerrards role in behind the striker ... (I think... Not sure what Woy has in mind for Rooney)

Luck seems to be the one thing that England never has. What we need is the implementation of goal-line technology!

Seeing as Roy and I have a bottle of Johnny Walkers finest on the line... my money is on the Azzuri!
Balotelli will be the highlight of the tournament, I'm just not sure if it'll be for his actions on or off field!
Also, the buzzers should do a feature on the architectural elements of the stadium!
See you all on College!

Awesome idea re: Stadiums. I think I may do a TalkCondo edition :)
And it's amazing how having a $300 bottle of scotch on the line can make the tournament even more interesting......
(for those who want to call me crazy, the wager is that England will get further in the tournament than Italy....)

Pfffft. Does 1966 not ring a bell? The one world cup you've won you got all the luck in the world! Excuses excuses!!
@Mark - come on, the Italians? They have to get through us before they do anything.
Interesting wager though! I can see both teams getting knocked out fairly early. The Italians could even go out in the group stages, and who knows what sort of England team are gonna turn up!!
Can't look past the Germans.....

The Dutch have a score to settle with Spain. If their defence wasn't poison, I'd give them the edge. Spain won't win it.

England vs. Germany final, penalty shoot out with Schweinsteiger taking the last penalty for the Germans because his penalty against Chelsea was woeful!

After today's match, Netherlands are 0-2
Probably the biggest surprise so far at Euro?

Don't think the English can have any complaints. They were completely outclassed. The better team won.
Italy looked pretty good all things considered but Germany are a different beast altogether. Two GREAT semi-finals ahead!!!

Agreed - Germany completely re-invented themselves after '06 and I consider them, along-with Spain the powerhouses of world football at the moment.
I also think a SPAIN V.S. GERMANY final. Not calling it. I failed last time :)

The Germans are a great looking team and I've always loved watching them play, so calculating and so fluid. On paper the Germans do look like stronger team... but this is soccer and in a Euro that has seen Spain held at a tie but the Italians, Netherlands loose to Denmark and Sweden score 2 goals on England - anything is possible.
This is the beauty of soccer... all the possession in the world means nothing if the other team finds the back of the net before yours!

Maybe it's all the Johnny Walker Blue in me but this needs to be said!
There's been a lot of blasphemous inaccuracies on this thread, and with Italy's latest win over the Germans only one person has been right from day one... me.
Not only did I say that Italy was a team to look out for, I also predicted Balotelli being the big name of the tournament.
To quote and earlier post: "Balotelli will be the highlight of the tournament, I'm just not sure if it'll be for his actions on or off field! "
Whatever Sunday's outcome it's been a pleasure blasting past Ireland, England and Germany. All the ban wagon Spain fans better hope and pray that Super Mario Balotelli doesn't hit that magic star before the game.

I have to say I'm baffled that Italy have done what they have done. After the mess that they went through with Domenico Criscito getting kicked out of the team before the tournament started because of match fixing, I was sure the team would implode -- add to that an ageing squad and an unpredictable forward, I'm shocked they've gotten to the final.
Having said that, Pirlo has been an absolute master class. Buffon has been out of this world and the team have defending like lions. You still never know what you're gonna get with Mario, but if he can keep his head on for the final who knows what can happen.
....Enjoy the final guys, I wish it was us!!! :)
