How can I kill the raccoons? Ideas please!

I wonder why our roof has become a haven for the raccoons! Earlier it was the falconry birds, I don’t know where they escaped to and never thought these raccoons will take after their place. I have tried live trap with some dry cat food and even bow and arrow. Though they were successful, never could I eradicate all of them. Also if I could, who knows those falconry birds wouldn’t come again! I heard about net mesh for grabbing the raccoon, how is it done? Or do you think that I should go for some raccoon removal companies such as Swat Wildlife in Toronto ( http://www.swatwildlife.com/ ) Or any other ideas on how can I kill them?

Don't kill them. It's illegal. I would call a wildlife removal company if they are getting to be too much of a nuisance.

Years ago I owned a old house  and we discovered a raccoon nesting in the crawlspace.  Oh what a mess it made!  Raccoon poo and torn up newspaper and pink insulation 8 feet wide.  We installed super bright shop lights and made tons of noise to scare it off.  It was squeezing in through the tiniest of spaces where an old stairway had been removed and there was a thin gap under the new stairs (took us forever to find it). Then we had to make sure there was no more access.  From my research raccoons can come back again and again and will even bust through walls to get back to their nests, so you have to make sure the repair is very secure.  You can also buy raccoon traps but you would have to drive them far away and release them (yes it is illegal to kill them), so I would hire a professional. They can be very aggressive and will bite so I wouldn't want to get that close to them myself.  Finally, their poo filled nests can be full of nasty bacteria so you need gloves, coveralls and a rebreather when you are cleaning it up.  And for all those people that love to feed raccoons catfood, STOP!

I had a very tough time with raccoons before. It squeeze into the tiniest hole which you think they wouldn’t get into. I tried many ways to get rid of them which showed some result, but they returned with more number. I lost most night’s sleep because of the disturbance they make. I then called up a raccoon removal service in Toronto. They made sure that the raccoons don’t come back and since then I haven’t had any issues with raccoons.

Oh boy. They can be a nuisance for sure. Don't kill them, that's cruel and illegal. Getting a professional company to resolve this issue is a sound idea!

Try a can of tuna as bait in the live trap. You only need a small amount with oil to attract them. Or get some coyote urine to spray around the area. You can buy this at most home improvement stores, such Home Depot. If you use the coyote urine, you will need to watch when they leave and then board up the opening. If they have kits, though, you will need to figure out how to get those out of there. Good luck.

I got rid of the raccoons on my roof by chopping up red chili pepper and sprinkling them around the house. I even boiled some in water and sprayed it all over the place. Raccoons left and never came back to touch my compost or crawl up to the roof. No need to kill them.

Try to keep the yard food trash free.
You can also Delta Guard Granules or Complete Insect Killer to reduce the attack of raccoons.

I own Envirosafe Pest Control Orlando 407-580-7124. Please consider trapping and relocating, exclusion and limit feeding areas around dumpster. To the person who recommended Delta Guard Granules or Complete insect killer, I would remind you that the label is the law and other than natural repellents such as pepper oils, there are no pesticides labeled for repelling mammals.
