Distillery Area - Toronto?

I have a client looking to move to Toronto and wants to buy in the Distillery area. I know nothing about Toronto & will be trying to refer him to some good help over there.
What are everyone's thoughts on this area?
Good value? upside potential? certain buildings to go for/avoid?

thanks for any feedback,
Amar

Thanks to @geonvanderwyst on Twitter, for replying:
"...distillery is a great area with loads of potential. The West Donlands development is underway close by and chng landscape BIG."

I just drove by the area, and am pretty impressed.
Until now, I used to think of the area as "out of the way" and not so accessible to Toronto. But, after today, I realized how nicely the area is filling in.
I give the area a plus!

I agree it's beautiful and has a nice restaurant/retail scene, but I agree it is not easily accessible. Considering the winters we have, living in the Distillery requires a car. That's a major drawback, given a lot of people live downtown for the convenience and transportation links.

I don't understand the comments about the DD being out of the way. It is a fifteen minute walk from the core, and has easy transit access from the King streetcar. Plus, King East has a scene of it's own and all the amenities you could want are close by. I'd definitely say it's a great value and has plenty of room to grow with the Port Lands redevelopment.

It's one of my favourite developments in Toronto. The included best amenities ie) shops, cafes, functions, walking court and owning a piece of historical Toronto.. I would say yes..

I love love love the distillery! It's like a young movie star on the come up, with so much potential just waiting for the spotlight to shine on it...and in the next few years, I can see it shinning bright.
With the PanAm games coming to Toronto for 2 weeks in 2015, the City will get a new village and more infrastructure. The site of the Village is just to the east of the Distillery. Anyone who's been by there in the past year has probably seen the prep work going on! Front street (the road that runs to the north the the District) is in the process of being extended and will better improve transportation to the area.
Contrary to what many say, the area is actually not all that isolated. In fact, I find the opposite to be true as it's quite self sustained. Banks, Grocery and a ton of restaurant and pubs are already established in area. I find the amenities to be much more accessible that Libetry Village! Although I don't live in the area, I do spend ALOT of time there including in the winter...Last year they had a "European" themed Christmas with a massive tree in the middle and market on the weekends. This past summer they had a "food truck festival" where all different varieties of food trucks parked and hungry onlookers got to sample!
In terms of buildings, there isn't very much selection...Clear Spirit would be your best bet! As the Don River park, River City and Trinitly Lofts come to completion, the area will me much more established. I'd try to get your clients in today!
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feedback. Most options seem to be on Mill St.
Any particular of the building on that street recommended, or good to avoid?
Mark, are any of those you've mentioned on Mill?

Oops. That was some poor, late night, not enough coffee English.
Any particular buildings on that street that are recommended?
That's better...

Just had brunch yesterday with clients I helped get into the DD, and they love it! They've been there for about 6 months or so, and can't say enough great things about the community. They experienced the Food Truck festival a few weeks back, have eaten at every restaurant, shopped in most of the boutiques and are really taking it all in. They do have a car, but commented on how much easier it is to get around then they thought it would be.

From a Realtor perspective, I agree with Mark's comments...right down to if this is where they want to be, get in now!
