wood framed condo's

i recently purchaced a condo in burlington built by New horizon Homes they are known for building good quality homes. As they now dug out the underground for this four storey building they started to frame the building with wood all walls and the floors are lite steel joist and sheeted with osb board ?? I am shocked that the are not even going to put in cement floors , I don't know is this the way of the future to save time and money I'm sure paying enough for as little as 700 square ft. for this geo thermal condo i just hope it will be as sound proof as concrete?
