Funny Condo Board Stories!

So I don't really have one to start off but I would love to hear funny stories about condo boards/ property managers.

I know for a fact Del Property Management had an employee event where they played "Whos Smarter Than a Board Member!" Which pretty clearly illustrates their feelings.

Funny/Crazy stories please!

Cheers,
Morgan Gray

Prostitution in a certain downtown condo comes to mind. Board members kept complaining that they seen strange men going in and out a hot lady's unit.
I had a friend who had a porn star pay 1 yr in advance for his cityplace condo

Hello Morgan,

As the Vice President of Del Property Management Inc., and primarily responsible for putting together all of our employee events, on behalf of all the dedicated staff at Del, I take great exception to your presumptuous statement, "Which pretty clearly illustrates their feelings". Anyone reading this statement would automatically presume that you mean we think very little of Board Members.

We hold such employee events for the purposes of entertaining and educating our staff. Our "Are You Smarter Than a Board Member" event was, obviously, a parody of the popular "Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader" TV show, and was carried out in the very best of taste, and with the highest regard and respect for our client condominium Boards of Directors.

Since our relationships with our client Boards of Directors are integral to our continued success and the main source of our very enviable reputation in the condominum management industry, to have portrayed them in any disrespectful manner would have been suicidal on our part to say the least.

Your statement is defamatory and unfounded and could certainly damage our unblemished repuation. And since you have made such a statement on a public forum, I would respectfully request that you print a retraction at your earliest opportunity.

Allan Rosenberg, R.C.M., A.C.C.I.,
Vice President
Del Property Management Inc.

^^I should note that I read @Morgan's response in a completely different manner. In fact, I read into "...which pretty clearly illustrates their feelings..." as a positive.
I thought it showed the lighter side of property-management companies, their ability to relate to condo boards, and have fun while getting the job done.
Without a doubt, from what I have heard, Del has a phenomenal reputation as property managers, and goes out of its way to create fun events, social gatherings, and works very hard to create a "community atmosphere" via Facebook groups, and such events as the one mentioned above.
I think the "Whos Smarter Than a Board Member!" is a great sounding event for staff as a way to learn about the ongoings in a condominium, how the condominiums are run, and distribute information in a fun and engaging manner.

Hi Allan,
I am not willing to retract my statement as it was meant the way Matthew interpreted it, I was in no way attempting to tarnish the image of Del.
I will however clarify the statement for you.
Being someone who has worked in and for condominiums I know that sometimes board members are very often highly educated, intelligent and driven people. However as in Real Estate Agency, you are dealing with peoples homes and they can get very emotional and as all people do, they can make rash decisions and the PM has to deal with the fallout from those decisions.
This is the reality of the Property Management business and I found it very refreshing that Del could have a light hearted event poking fun at that reality.
Do I think everyone at Del stood around talking smack about the boards they worked for, of course not. As you said it would "suicidal" to do so.
I'm sure it was handled proffesionally and was a well run event that fun and informative and when I heard about it my opinion of Del went up.
Having worked with Del Property Managers before I can tell you when I find out the PM for a particular property is from Del, I am happy, like Brian said Del is one of the best and I always rest assured that my requests for Status or general inquiries are handled quickly and proffesioanlly.
I always mention to prospective purchasers if a condominium is managed by a reputable company (such as Del) as I think it is very important.
My personal belief however is that if your light hearted and sure enough of the way in which the event was handled the best way to have dealt with my statements would have been to ignore them.
Cheers,
Morgan Gray

Here is a funny story about how del condo management is disrespectful and rude. The president actually thinks he is the president of the world and simple rules or maybe law doesn't apply to him.

i was the exiting my buildings underground parking and I was the third car exiting. 2 cars leave mr. President waits as I go mr. President in his Mercedes decided to go, although he just blocks the both of us and I must find a way around because he believes he has space HaHA.  say did you not see me? He says "shut the fuck up I am the president, president I am the president". It was a moment I wish I had my camera phone recording so I can post on YouTube how unprofessional, arrogant and selfish the president is. I'm sorry, you may be the president of the company HOWEVER that doesn't mean you don't follow simple rules and maybe Canadian law.

I wish I could personally tell him how arrogant he is.
