Niagara Fall Skyline- so excited!

http://www.wellandtribune.ca/2012/07/24/new-player-in-race-for-falls-tallest-building
Niagara Falls skyline changing dramatically w/ addition of luxe resort hotel, comprised of 2 towers, 60 storeys high! On River Road, overlooking the Niagara River, right below the Falls, across from the Rainbow Bridge (US/Can border) Great for the world class City of Niagara Falls,- we've far more to offer than just amusements! Great for the downtown core too- our heritage buildings & homes probably will get some much needed revitalization! Above & Beyond Niagara will be pushing for that! Can't have 'posh' next to 'old & tired'! Doesn't make a good impression on guests to the City! Yippee!

This looks amazing.  For the Toronto connection, Hunter Milborne - the "Dean of Condos" is a partner in this project.  Rendering is awesome.

Interesting, although, is there a market for a project of this size??? I'm not convinced...but prove me wrong....

I agree- it is nuts! I've seen better buildings than these-they look like 2 unsharpened pencils!- (Pls don't quote me!) Don't know who the architect is- not very imaginative for Niagara Falls! HOWEVER- it will benefit the old town of N.Falls-can't have rundown next to posh! Just won't do! We will see what happens! We (Above & Beyond Niagara) are pushing foe a complete makeover/polish for the old town- full of heritage buildings-PRIME real estate in N. Falls!
Investors- now's the chance- properties greatly undervalued here right now - for how long?

I'm not replying to myself(!) but I have a more comments...It will be a 'Resort Hotel'. The targeted market is primarily Asian/Indian Tourism. I'm not convinced there's a 'consistent' year 'round market for a project of this size either,- we have 4 seasons in Canada, & 1 of them is winter. Our existing &sizablehotels are not fully booked all year- why would these 2 be different? Granted, the views from the upper floors will be magnificent!, And, at least they're going up at the other end of the City, opposite end to the already congested Fallsview district. Our skyline here, already quite visible for miles both in CA & US, will beunmistakable! If the high end caliber of these buildings picks up downtown Niagara Falls, though, that will be a definite benefit! Hoping for this! Perhaps there will be an upscale condo project to follow, to attract permanent well-off residents too. Our focus in N.Falls IS Tourism,- however Tourism, dependent on so many variables, can be a fickle business!
(one more thing- I don't mean to insult the design, but they are rather plain! Perhaps the wind loads, which are something to contend with anyway, because of the proximity & nature of the Falls themselves,- are dictating the necessity of these elongated shapes?)

We aren't hearing anything at all about these buildings! No more details, other than Niagara Falls City Council has approved their construction. Hunter Milborne & Ralph Terrio, partners in this development, are staying way too quiet! However, very reliable 'word on the street' is that the project may be sold before it is even started! Anybody know anything?
